Privacy Policy

This policy explains what the ApexArcade app (the "App") collects, why, and what you can do about it. Degenerates Studio ("we", "us") runs the App. Contact: apexarcade@degeneratesstudio.com.

1. WHAT WE COLLECT

• Account: your email address, a username (shown to other players), your first name and, if you give them, your last name and phone number, your date of birth (to check you are 18 or older), and your password (stored only as a one-way hash).
• Approximate location: when a game that isn't available everywhere needs it, the App reads your device's approximate location and sends it to our server, which works out which US state you are in. We keep only the state and the time of the check, never your coordinates. You can say no; those games then stay closed.
• Gameplay: your games and scores, your credit and prestige history, your rank on the weekly leaderboard, your friends, friend requests, blocks, and head-to-head matches.
• Purchases: when you buy credits, Apple processes the payment. We never see your card or Apple account details. Through our purchase provider, RevenueCat, we receive the product you bought and Apple's transaction ID, so we can add the credits.
• Notifications: if you allow them, a push token for your device, so we can send you notifications.
• Prize winners: the name, shipping address and (optional) phone number and notes you give us to receive a prize.
• Support and reports: messages you send to support (with the email address to reply to and your app version), and reports you make about other players.
• Technical data: your IP address and basic request information, used briefly to keep the service secure and to limit abuse.

We don't use advertising networks or analytics trackers, and we don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.

2. HOW WE USE IT

To run your account and the games; to keep balances, the leaderboard and the weekly race fair (including detecting cheating); to check your age and which games are available where you are; to award and ship prizes; to answer support requests and reports; to send the notifications you allow (for example, friend requests and prize news); to send password reset codes; and to keep the App secure and meet legal obligations.

3. WHAT OTHER PLAYERS SEE

Your username, your weekly prestige and your rank on the leaderboard, and, in multiplayer, your online status (only to friends) and your moves in a match. Other players never see your email, real name, date of birth, location or purchases.

4. WHO WE SHARE IT WITH

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We share it only with service providers that run parts of the App for us, under contracts that limit what they can do with it:

• Apple (App Store purchases and push notifications);
• RevenueCat (confirming purchases);
• Expo (delivering push notifications and app updates);
• our cloud host (Amazon Web Services, in the United States), where our servers and database run;
• our email provider (support emails and password reset codes);
• a shipping carrier, only to deliver a prize you won.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect players or the App, or as part of a sale or merger of our business (under this policy).

5. HOW LONG WE KEEP IT

We keep your account information while your account exists. When you delete your account (Settings → Delete account), we delete your push tokens, notifications, friends and blocks, and any prize shipping details, and we erase your email, username, names, phone number, date of birth and location from the account. We keep your game and balance history in anonymous form, because the leaderboard and other players' results depend on it. Backups are kept for 14 days. Support messages are kept so we can follow up; ask us and we'll delete yours.

6. YOUR CHOICES AND RIGHTS

You can see and change your username in the App, turn notifications and location access off in your device settings, and delete your account in the App at any time. You can also email apexarcade@degeneratesstudio.com to ask for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete it; depending on where you live (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia or other US states with privacy laws) you have these rights by law, and we won't treat you differently for using them. We'll respond within the time the law requires.

7. SECURITY

Your connection to our servers is encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are stored only as hashes, and access to our systems is limited. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a password you don't use anywhere else.

8. AGE LIMIT

The App is for adults 18 and older and is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if we learn we have, we delete it.

9. CHANGES

We may update this policy. If a change is significant we'll tell you in the App before it takes effect.
